Custoza is a DOC wine whose production is allowed in the province of Verona, south of Lake Garda, specifically in whole or in part of the territories of the municipalities of Sommacampagna, Villafranca di Verona, Valeggio sul Mincio, Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Castelnuovo del Garda, Pastrengo, Bussolengo, and Sona. The production area of Custoza, although not particularly extensive, occupies a large part of the southern sector of the hilly morainic strip that stretches between the city of Verona and Lake Garda.

The climate of the Custoza DOC area is characterized by hot summers that are not stifling and relatively cold winters, tempered by the proximity of Lake Garda. The configuration of the hilly slopes allows for daytime heating and nighttime accumulation of cool air, which stimulates the development of the aromatic characteristics of white grapes.

PRODUCTION AREA: Sirmione and Pozzolengo

VINE PROTECTION METHODS: Integrated pest management; controlled environmental impact.

PRODUCTION METHOD: Soft pressing of the grapes and careful selection of the free-run juice. Alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 12°C for around 20 days, followed by cooling of the wine to below 5°C. Maturation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about 3 months. Natural tartaric stabilisation.

TASTING NOTES: Straw yellow with intense golden highlights. Elegant bouquet of ripe white-fleshed fruit, white flowers and citrus fruits, accompanied by hints of iodine and clay. Vibrant, with great tanginess and freshness.
