Nero d'Avola is native to Sicily, a region in Italy. It takes its name from the city of Avola, located on the southeastern coast of the island. Nero d'Avola is a variety of red grape that gives rise to intense and complex red wines. It is loved for its inviting aromas, full-bodied structure, and versatility in producing quality wines. It represents a pillar of Sicilian winemaking and has gained prominence in the international wine industry.The Nero d'Avola grapevines produce medium to large-sized clusters with spherical or slightly oval-shaped berries. The grape's skin is thick and dark blue or intense black in color, from which it derives its name.Nero d'Avola is often appreciated for its versatility and ability to express the characteristics of the terroir where it is cultivated. Wines produced with this grape are a representation of the authenticity and winemaking tradition of Sicily.

GROWING SYSTEM: espalier with guyot pruning


WINE MAKING: in steel tanks at controlled temperature (24/25°c) with a must maceration on skins for more than 20 days

WOOD REFINING: at least 6 months in barrique, maturing in bottle at least 3 months

TASTING NOTES: smell pleasant sensations of plum jams and berries; it has also extraordinary marked spicy hints of pepper and vanilla. Round, powerful and fascinating to the palate, very tannic but not aggressive; it stands out for its personality and for a final, very elegant aromatic persistence
